The world of craft is getting popular and wider as more and more people are now turning to crafts for the therapy it provides. I am definitely one of them. After being diagnosed with mental health difficulties, I found a way to manage my own symptoms through making things. I resorted to making all kinds of crafts with my favorite being card making and crocheting. I have benefited from these hobbies and have now expanded in it, adding teaching other people to it.
Experts say crafting can help those who suffer from anxiety, depression or chronic pain. They say it may also reduce stress and increase happiness by releasing neurotransmitter called dopamine
Activities such as reading, painting, sewing even colouring etc can help the brain relax. Crafting can help boost self esteem and self confidence by making the crafter feel proud of the fact that they are useful and good at what they do, the result is rewarding.
Children, adults and the elderly can all benefit from crafting. Crafting can also benefit families and improve relational relationships.
